“I have been a very big supporter of the nuclear industry and remain so – and nuclear energy – I think it’s got enormous opportunities to provide baseload power.
“But the race for technology change at the moment is leading heavily toward hydrogen renewables and I think it’s getting harder for the industry to find a solution to operate here in Australia as it goes forward. “That being said, and certainly still remain very much committed to it, but I think the headwinds are working against it right now.”
aclennell Considering that every solar panel purchased is extra $$$ in 🇨🇳's pocket. Makes sense to invest in our own Nuclear industry and stand on our own 2 feet.
Most nuclear plants were built in 70 & 80's. They had a planned 40 year life and are now being shut down or are breaking down. Renewables are now about 10 times cheaper than new nuclear. The nuclear age us almost over. Hinkley Point C one of the last.
Maybe think about placing on along the Murray. Maybe it wouldn't be wise.

Where does this come from? There is no rush for hydrogen. Electric is already here and a lot cheaper than hydrogen or nuclear. Just get more solar and wind and stop trying to keep the fossil fuel companies polluting the air
Renewable energy is going to cause the biggest energy crisis this country has ever seen
Errr, no but Nuclear Fusion has a future. Sad fact, Aussies have no idea what Nuclear Fusion is
Time to generate nuclear power
