At this week’s show, the issue of energy affordability was raised repeatedly by experts, executives and politicians as a growing problem. “But we haven’t really seen much demand destruction, and we haven’t really seen much supply come on.” In Alberta, gasoline costs that month were up 25.5 per cent, even with the province lifting its tax at the pumps.

Amrita Sen, research director of London-based consultancy Energy Aspects, said the issue of energy security sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is bringing many of these issues to a head for consumers around the globe.

Liberals literally voted to raise the price of fossil fuels. Complaining now is gross hypocrisy.

Should the Govt stop taxing gas to help poor and middle class people or would that interfere with the social engineering?

Call a spade a spade. Energy costs are not up. Oil and gas costs are up because of corporate greed.

How ya liking the green agenda so far?

I can think of two reason why the gas will skyrocket. One Ford needs to feed his billionaire friends. Two trudeau need Canadians to feed ukraine.

We need a Government that's not so hell bent on destroying Canadian lives.

This is just whining to get rid of the carbon tax. The real answer, that postmedia won't recognize because they are paid by the oil industry - is to put gouging laws in place and cap the cost of oil in Canada. Fix our prices at an acceptable rate and the oil companies will cope.
