Queensland and New South Wales are being warned of potential blackouts with a power shortage expected tonight.
Queenslanders are being urged to conserve electricity or face shedding in the states from 5pm until 11pm.If demand outstrips what is being generated, load shedding will happen to protect the network. AEMO said in a statement the price cap had seen energy generators decrease their supply of energy to the market

Gas generators are pulling production off because the market operator set a price ceiling ( which is still a massive premium to usual prices). So much for reliability of Gas... Our economy is at the mercy of some cowboys.

We rarely have blackouts being on the hospital grid. One hospital I worked on had a backup generator that took 90 seconds to start up and could not carry the whole load anyway. Try holding your breath for a minute and a half!
