Zahid backs both Najib and Anwar, says Petronas takeover and forensic audit needed to save Sapura Energy

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today gave his support for both suggestions to rescue beleaguered oil-and-gas operator Sapura Energy Bhd put forward in a recent debate.

“As highlighted in the debate between two political figures four days ago, companies whose equity holdings are joined by Permodalan Nasional Berhad such as Sapura Energy where there are over 10 million trust shareholdings, Amanah Saham Nasional also has the interest to help. “However, we agree that forensic auditing must also be done so that it is more transparent,” he added.

Najib said Petronas could easily support Sapura via the takeover and sell it off later for a profit once it had been turned around.

Like Najib, Zahid thinks that Petronas is sitting on a huge stack of cash which it doesnt know what to do with. What need to be told is that Petronas invests huge $$ to sustain and continue growth. Stopping investment to save Sapura can jeqopardise growth to that Malaysian icon.

Its not about saving Sapura! its about saving the nation!

Sapura is a cash cow. Cash is king. Assign the bailor first Then read the audit findings. Teknik nak score duit rakyat.

B4 that, ensure that the fat remunerations for all BOD members of Sapura is returned for at least 5yr payouts!

And the most powerful office in our country has no view

No need to save but SOLD Sapura. Let profesional manage this company not kampung boy!!
