PETALING JAYA: China's badminton team has been struck by tragedy as singles player Zhang Zhijie passed away while participating in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Sunday night.
Before the incident, Zhijie was seen waiting for a service return from his opponent when he suddenly collapsed on the court. "Chinese singles player Zhijie collapsed on the court during a match. The tournament doctor and medical team rushed to provide immediate assistance."
