The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Reimagines What An EV Can Be

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N truly won me over when I made a mistake. The real star was the fake transmission, dubbed N e-shift, which simulates an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Press one of the N buttons on the steering wheel and the steering wheel paddles otherwise used to adjust regenerative braking become gear shifters. And they will do everything a gas car’s DCT will do, including hitting redline or locking you out of too-low gears at highway speeds.
