The bank will split Andrew Sutherland’s coverage responsibilities – plus clients and direct reports – across two MDs, who will be expanding their roles.

There are changes in JPMorgan’s local investment banking lineup, just as the Wall Street bank heads towards its annual managing director promotions.

Sutherland’s departure was announced to staff on Thursday morning. He was a managing director and joined JPMorgan in 2015, after a four-year stint as Goldman Sachs’ head of energy for Australia and New Zealand. JPMorgan’s local investment banking boss Julian Peck has decided to split Sutherland’s coverage responsibilities – plus clients and direct reports – across two MDs, who will be expanding their roles.will add utilities to his remit, while head of metals and mining, Matthew Hocking, will pick up Sutherland’s energy coverage.Foy joined JPMorgan last year, after his employer Credit Suisse’s forced marriage with UBS.
