MAYNILAD Water Services Inc. said Monday that it had increased the use of renewable energy in its operations by 15 percent after forming a partnership with MPower, the local retail supply unit of Manila Electric Co .Under this collaboration, MPower will supply renewable energy from solar and biomass sources to run nine Maynilad facilities, the company said in a statement.
'This is part of our climate neutrality aspirations by 2027, which we aim to be at least 35 percent by then,' he added.Maynilad said it was planning to increase utilization of green power by 30 percent in 2025 and 40 percent by 2027.'At Maynilad, we are committed to sustainable practices and reducing our carbon footprint,' Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito Fernandez said.
