One of the grants was awarded to the Olympia Foundation to improve its Euclid Avenue facility by upgrading lighting systems; replacing remote terminal units, windows and a roof; and installing a solar photovoltaic system. The improvements are expected to cut the foundation’s utility bills by nearly 47%, the release stated.The Chef’s Garden in Erie County, which was awarded $2.5 million to update lighting and install a solar photovoltaic system.

The City of Springdale in Hamilton County will receive $641,813 to install new LED lighting fixtures and direct digital control systems, as well as complete a chiller upgrade. The project is expected to yield an annual utility savings of 20.7%. The Toledo Lucas Port Authority in Lucas County will receive $700,099 to upgrade lighting systems and install a solar photovoltaic system with an energy storage system, cutting utility costs by nearly 95%.
