THE International Association of Ports and Harbors has commissioned a study on energy-related port investments in developing countries and collaborated with the International Maritime Organization to bolster global port sustainability, resilience and security.
The study will identify and quantify the infrastructure required in select developing countries across Africa, South America, the Indian Subcontinent, Asia and the Pacific Islands region. Its objective is to ensure these countries are included in the energy transition of shipping. By assessing the specific needs of these regions, the study aims to facilitate their alignment with global efforts to reduce GHG emissions from maritime activities.
