Initially only available in Japan, Nissan has now confirmed it will come to Europe and that it will sell the Nismo version in all countries where you can already buy a standard Ariya – including the UK.
The Ariya helps mark the 40th anniversary of Nismo and will now be the only model wearing the famed badge in Europe, with the As you’d expect, Nissan has tarted up the Nismo model with an aggressive bodykit that features some red trimmings, chunky front and rear bumpers and a motorsport-inspired central rear fog light. The red inserts carry on inside, with chunky and thickly-bolstered seats.
Two power variants will launch – both with Nissan’s e-4ORCE twin-motor all-wheel drive setups: a ‘B6’ model developing 362bhp and a ‘B9’ variant pushing out 429bhp. It’s not yet been confirmed which will be sold in Europe. A new Nismo driving mode can be activated inside the car, giving a performance boost and a Formula E-inspired soundtrack to match. No other performance specs are provided.
Further details about the Nissan Ariya NISMO are expected towards the end of the year, with sales likely to start in 2025. Expect prices to start from around £65,000, putting it in direct competition with the
