Amazon has launched its inaugural micromobility hub in Northern Ireland, situated at the delivery station in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast.
With this investment, electric cargo bikes and walkers are set to deliver millions of packages to Amazon customers throughout the UK each year. Nick Turkington, the owner of Astral Fox, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are delighted to work with Amazon to bring this fleet of electric cargo bikes to Northern Ireland. We think the electric cargo bikes are going to be a big hit with customers, while also supporting Amazon's sustainability commitments. The future is here and this is just the beginning."
As a co-founder and the inaugural signatory of The Climate Pledge, Amazon has pledged to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. The Pledge now has close to 500 signatories, with more than 100 hailing from the UK, all collaborating on initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and investing in technologies that reduce carbon emissions.
