Justin Searle's mates raised their eyebrows when he decided to go electric, but the Queenslander says he is yet to hit a bump in the road.

If demand for EV charging stations continues in the bush, providers say they will expand infrastructure to foster growth.

"I get 440 kilometres on a full charge and it takes about an hour to charge fully from near-empty," Mr Searle said. But Mr Searle said limitations including a lack of EV mechanics and examples of targeted EV vandalism were holding back rural communities.
