SEPANG: The police are planning to use electric scooters at KLIA to better patrol the airport after a shooting incident there yesterday.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the state government had agreed to buy the scooters, adding that this would be the first time the police deploy such equipment in Malaysia.“We’ll be getting these scooters soon,” he told reporters after a handover ceremony for the new KLIA police chief.SPONSORED CONTENT Sabah revenue hits RM6.

Hussein said the police on the scene did not engage with the suspect due to fears that the situation would escalate. “The situation might have been worse if we engaged with him and he started shooting, it’s a crowded public area with many children around.” Bernama reported that photographs of the suspect have been distributed at entry points in the north of the peninsula as well as to immigration authorities in a neighbouring country.
