I want to offer my congratulations to Suzanne LaFrance for her victory in the mayoral election. Since she won’t be sworn in until July 1, it may be too early to ask this, but it’s not too early to think about it. Given climate change, it might well be that the monstrous snowfalls we’ve had the past two winters is the new normal, and we should be expecting more of the same from now on.
Mayor Dave Bronson’s bumbling response to the heavy snow the past two years undoubtedly cost him votes, and might well have cost him the election.
