Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A19 southbound, close to the slip road with Lindisfarne Roundabout, in Jarrow, at 10.40pm on Friday .
Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a 30-year-old man, had suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mitsubishi, a woman in her 40s, remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.An investigation is ongoing and officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the moments leading up to the collision to contact them.
