Members of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau issue violation tickets to drivers of electric tricycles who were flagged for using national roads yesterday.MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority started yesterday the implementation of the ban on electric tricycles and e-bicycles from using major thoroughfares in the National Capital Region.Acting MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said the agency would begin issuing traffic violation tickets tomorrow.

Prohibition of E-Bikes and E-Trikes on Metro Manila Roads Starting April 2024The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be implementing the prohibition of e-bikes, e-trikes, tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts, and kuligligs from traversing national roads, circumferential roads, and radial roads in Metro Manila starting April 15, 2024. Electric vehicle users need to be operated by licensed drivers and their vehicles need to be registered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) if they plan to use these on public roads and highways.
