DISTRIBUTION TECHNICIAN

Algoma Power Inc. is a subsidiary of FortisOntario Inc. which is headquartered in Fort Erie and has operations in electricity transmission and distribution primarily located in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Cornwall, Gananoque and the District of Algoma. FortisOntario is the only investor-owned electric distribution utility in Ontario and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Inc. . Fortis is the largest investor-owned distribution utility in Canada. Algoma Power Inc.

• Prepare project estimates taking into consideration such variables as structures, spans, soil types, components, and work methods.• Provide project management oversight for capital projects which includes performing pre-job assessments, work coordination with internal crews and external third parties, budgeting, design and engineering, quality assurance and quality checks throughout the project.• Provide assistance related to inquiries, investigations, engineering analysis.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Electrical Engineering Technician or possess equivalent combination of education and experience.• Working knowledge and experience with structural line design and associated software, such as PLS CADD, SPIDA software etc.• Thorough understanding of design standards, such as CSA, IEEE, ANSI etc.
