Porsche’s new Taycan Turbo GT raises the performance bar for the brand’s first electric car to new heights. The only difference between that car and the production model is a regulation roll cage and harnesses – so we’ve strapped in for one hell of a ride…Of course. It’s that first full-throttle launch out of the pit that really hits you, so much so that I tense whatever measly abs I have just to stabilise myself in the super-low-down bucket seat. The acceleration is very much like any other extremely powerful EV: relentless and gut-punching despite little drama.
