“I don’t think these two candidates could be any further and distinctly different on energy issues than they have been,” Dan Kish, the senior vice president of the American Energy Alliance, a conservative-aligned advocacy group, told the Trump has vowed to approve more oil and gas drilling permits.

The Inflation Reduction Act, which narrowly cleared both chambers in August 2022 before being signed into law, includes up to $7,500 in consumer tax credits for certain electric vehicles to help incentivize widespread consumer adoption . It also includes generous tax credits to help subsidize the cost of renewable energy projects, such as offshore wind, to attract new investments.
