Flash flooding killed more than 300 people and destroyed over 1,000 houses after unusually heavy seasonal rains in Afghanistan, the U.N. food agency said.
The World Food Program said it was distributing fortified biscuits to the survivors, as videos posted on social media showed dozens of people gathered at the hospital in Baghlan looking for their loved ones. He said the government had ordered all available resources mobilised to rescue people, transport the injured and recover the dead.Dead bodies of Afghan people are placed on the ground after the flooding.Afghanistan is still recovering from a string of earthquakes at the beginning of the year as well as severe flooding in March.
