Octopus Energy issues major update to 1.3 million customers after takeover

Octopus Energy, a competitor of British Gas, OVO, EDF and others, has given a big update to 1.3 million customers after a huge takeover. They've told Shell Energy customers that their accounts will be moved over to Octopus in the next few weeks.

Birmingham Live said that last month, Octopus Energy agreed to sell the broadband part of Shell Energy Retail after buying the company in December 2023. They chose the shareholders of TalkTalk, a well-known retailer in the telecoms market, as the buyer of Shell Energy Broadband.
