More Than A Magazine, A Movement

A ‘Stop: Extreme Heat Danger’ sign posted during a long-duration heat wave on July 8, 2024, in Death Valley National Park, Calif., the hottest and driest place in the United States.

The heat insurance program is all women-led by Project Dandelion partners Emma Howard Boyd, vice chair of Climate Resilience for All; Kathy Baughman McLeod, CEO of Climate Resilience for All; and Reema Nanavaty of SEWA.Women farmers and waste pickers are quite literally falling dead from the work they do each day.

All of these women leaders are working at the intersection of public health, infrastructure planning and labor regulations in addressing climate impacts, proving once again the climate and nature crisis intersects with so many other global challenges.
