THE National Electrification Administration officially activated its National Command Center on Thursday, which will aid in the management of electric cooperatives and its projects all over the Philippines.NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda said the initiative would help the agency monitor the conditions of electric cooperatives and their projects as well as provide warnings on possible power interruptions so they can respond accordingly.

The development of the National Command Center began in 2022 as the NEA seeks to establish a digital communications technology framework that would enable real-time monitoring and data-driven intervention mechanisms to address major electricity distribution issues on the ground.Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla said the command center would help address the country's energy needs as well as facilitate the response to disasters.
