Children from six schools across the Humber are set to go head-to-head in the challenge.

Primary pupils are set to race in electric kit cars they have built themselves at school.The Greenpower Challenge will see the budding racers, all between the ages of nine and 11, construct their own Goblin Kit Car before racing against each other.

The event encourages children to work as a team, learning engineering and green skills and consider studying STEM subjects in the future. It will take place at Ennerdale Leisure Centre’s cycle circuit.
