Energy Bills News

Martin Lewis,Money

It set to be a tumultuous six months for energy bill costs

Martin Lewis has issued his latest advice over whether it's a good idea to fix your energy bills or not ahead of a national price decrease.

Current predictions forecast the price cap to rise once again later this year with experts also predicting energy prices to remain higher than previous years. Current consensus from analysts suggests the price cap will rise once again in October before reducing again next January, meaning a very tumultuous period for energy bills over the latter half of 2024.

Speaking about fixed energy deals, Martin said in the latest episode of his ITV show The Martin Lewis Money Show Live: "So those who watched last week will know that my current estimations based on predictions - and they may well be wrong - is that if you can get a fixed rate cheaper than the new July price cap it's probably a pretty good bet if you want price certainty."
