The Manila Electric Company on Wednesday announced the beginning of the competitive bidding for 600 megawatts of baseload power supply aimed at meeting the distributor’s requirements starting next year.In a statement, Meralco said the competitive selection process for the supply requirement has started.CSP is a form of competitive public bidding for distribution companies' purchases of electricity.
The CSP involves a 15-year Power Supply Agreement , which is targeted to start on August 26, 2025.Meralco said its Bids and Awards Committee for PSAs set the deadline for submission of expressions of interest on June 25, 2024.The pre-bid conference is scheduled for July 4, while the bid submission deadline is August 2, 2024.
