Florida residents could receive up to $14,000 in cash rebates if a new energy rebate program gets passed.State officials are asking for public feedback on the program as it awaits review by the U.S. Department of Energy. The DOE will need to give its final approval before Florida can start sending out the $346 million it was allocated to help its residents lower their energy costs.

'With many of its cities booming in population since the pandemic years, costs have risen dramatically,' Beene told Newsweek. 'Home values and all the costs associated with them have skyrocketed. Any program that seeks to reduce energy costs for both homeowners and businesses is perfectly timed to assist with the budget crunch most are experiencing.
