Pubs And Bars In Nottingham News

Nottinghamshire,Nottingham City Centre,In The News

There's a pair of sky-high platforms atop the bar counter and cans of energy drinks are still all over the club floor. A lone bottle of Jagermeister is perched on the top shelf

Echoes of nightclubs we once adored and lost are scattered across Nottingham city centre, with only a handful still standing in their entirety as nostalgic time capsules. One former Nottingham venue, however, still houses glasses, bottles - and even a pair of shoes.

Nottinghamshire Live was previously granted exclusive access by the owners of the building that once housed the popular Breeze and Lost Weekend venues, in Huntingdon Street. The club may ring a bell for some under its other aliases, including The House and Voodoo Lounge. Over the years, it hosted club nights such as Hotdog, Love Zoo, and Peter Martine's successful Revolution. After Lost Weekend closed its doors, the venue lay dormant for about five years before reopening as Breeze nightclub on New Year's Eve 2012, following a £200,000 refurbishment.

The nightclub remains frozen in time, looking much as it did when it shut more than a decade ago, back when it was known as Breeze. A pair of towering platforms sit abandoned on the bar counter, surrounded by discarded cans of energy drinks strewn across the floor.Pushing through the dense cobwebs and glancing upwards, the disco ball still hangs above the dancefloor, while the DJ box at the back stands untouched. Tickets from past celebrations continue to litter the bar counter.

The club featured two floors, but due to the dance floor and steps being warped from dampness, it wasn't safe to ascend. However, the renowned balcony where patrons could enjoy a pint while watching the dance floor is still visible.
