Victoria's Energy and Resources Minister Lily D'Ambrosio has launched a scathing attack on one of her federal counterparts over comments about the state's gas supply.
"So is more like a Coalition minister on radio this morning. How about talking the facts," Ms D'Ambrosio posted on X, formerly Twitter. In the radio interview, Ms King had been discussing the ACCC's March 2024 interim gas inquiry report which was released on Friday. "Demand in the southern states is expected to be met through gas already held in storage there and pipeline capacity allowing transport of Queensland's excess gas south."
"I'm not interested in criticising decisions of state governments. They make their choices. What I would say is that Queensland is doing the heavy lifting," she said. Ms King added since the election of the Albanese government, provisions put in place have included"ensuring the Iona storage facility is up and running to a much better capacity than it was before".
