Amara Nwuneli's remarkable documentary, "The Heat of Change," earned her the prestigious recognition as the first runner-up in the Best Documentary category at the inaugural Xposure International Film Awards.

The Xposure festival, known as the largest photography festival in the world, expanded its scope this year to include the celebration of visual storytelling through films. With the introduction of four new sub-categories for film awards, including Best Documentary, the festival aimed to diversify its offerings and honor exceptional filmmakers from around the globe.

Beyond her achievements at the Xposure festival, Nwuneli’s contributions to climate activism and social innovation extend far and wide. As the founder of Preserve Our Roots, a youth-led climate organization, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues and driving tangible change in communities across Nigeria and beyond.
