Bothwell Castle has reopened to visitors after months of essential conservation work including vital inspections and addressing the impact of climate change on the the 13th-century building.

Visitor information signs in place at the fenced-off castle last year read: “Specially-trained staff are checking the stonework by hand to assess the condition and take any action needed.
