Barnaby Joyce’s comments that victims of the devastating NSW bushfires were likely Greens voters have been described as “absolutely disgraceful” by friends of one of the men who died.
Mr Joyce also criticised the Greens for arguing the “spurious links” between the unprecedented fires ravaging the state and climate change. “Everyone is pretty emotional at the moment, but Barnaby’s comments are just salt in the wounds,” Northern Rivers local Aaron Hargreaves said.Mr Hargreaves, 40, who runs a food truck business in the region, described Mr Nole as a "gentleman" who was well known by the local community and made “awesome” gadgets.Mr Hardgreaves said he had spoken to several locals who had voiced disgust at Mr Joyce’s foray into the tragedy.
He added that Mr Nole was likely not a supporter of the Greens, with friends believing he had voted for a micro party in the area.

I looked up the interview and listened to what he said in context, and his comments have been made out to be far worse than they actually were. That's the usual story.
