SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority will progressively deploy at least 60 electric buses from early next year, as part of its move towards a cleaner energy public bus fleet by 2040.

The annual energy savings from using these buses will be sufficient to power up close to 4,300 households in Singapore per year. Passengers can also expect quieter bus journeys, the authority added. Centre poles, typically found at the entrances on buses here, have also been removed to allow easier access for parents with open strollers, said the LTA.

Bus technicians can be certified under three levels of expertise: Technical Specialist, Senior Technical Specialist, and Master Technical Specialist.
