Climate change protesters clash with police in violent scenes outside an international mining conference in Melbourne.

Climate change protesters have clashed with police in violent scenes outside an international mining conference in Melbourne.

Police used horses to force the demonstrators away from the entrance to the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, where the International Mining and Resources Conference is being held. More than 100 protesters were met by almost as many police, including at least eight mounted on horses, at the venue on the Yarra River.

Plant some trees if you really want to make a difference. No one is going to do it for you

Compare to what the HK protesters have done to the public faclities and normal people who have different opinions from them, Melbourne protestors are really really peaceful.

They didn't clash with police. The police brutalised them and the horses..

The POLICE were the ones who started the violence. Put that in your headline.

righttoknow whatwewanttotellyou evenifitsnottruthful

Another Australian institution sucking the balls of the mining industry, why dont ya just regurgiate there ads 24/7

Violent scenes as police attack protesters? I don't know. Maybe you could lead with: Is this police brutality?

...inciting violence then blaming the Police, nice.

Media use of the word violent interesting, paper cut or more ?

You mean violence as police attack peaceful lawful demonstrators. Don't you. Or is fact now optional at Aunty

Remember the golden rule people : if it’s reaching your eyes / ears , it’s meant to ( no accident ) they show you lots of Mayhem then bring in new anti - protest laws so t public have no power. Works every time . Then ask self : who is behind t protests ?

Going to report that a steel executive, from India, declined to cross the picket line?

Police attack protesters. Shades of Hong Kong.

No, ABC, the protesters didn't 'clash with' the police, the police attacked the protesters.

So much for our right to know...

Very disappointed in the headline, which sets the scene. No mention of police discipline breaking down and thuggish behaviour being tolerated by their colleagues. This one looks to have lost all control.

It’s police beating up peaceful non violent protestors. Get your shit together abc

'Clash' would imply it was from both sides. All I've seen is peaceful protestors being beaten by police, so a more accurate headline would be 'Police use excessive force against protestors'.

There might be evidence of protesters clashing with police but all I have seen is police clashing with protesters and its not the same thing Beating people on the back of the head and shoulders with a truncheon when they are moving away from you looks like criminal assault

LizBuff46 Violent scenes as police assault peaceful climate protesters outside mining conference. auspol VictoriaPolice VicOmbudsman

Get it right, ABC. Police trampled and used batons on unarmed protestors.

Who else knew this is the path the once great ABC would take when the lifetime Liberal party supporter Buttrose took over?

Police violence escalates, but they stopped short of using strip searching as a punitive measure. Just slugged people with batons this time:

Why the pro-Police State slant in your headline, ? Attribute violence to the violent - the Police using unwarranted force against peaceful peope exercising a democratic right to protest. Do you see this is one reason people are cynical about the RightToKnow campaign?

Don't you mean: 'Violent scenes as police clash with climate protesters outside mining conference'

Correction: 'Horrifying scenes in Melbourne as police violently abuse protesters, using horses to charge protesters and break bones.'

Holy fck, did that cop at the end point a can of capsicum spray at the crowd?

lock them up...minimum 5 years imprisonment ...

where do they think renewable energy will come from? you need lithium, cobalt, copper, nickel etc...this comes from mining...oh wait they don't think; they are mindless morons

Watch as climate protestors violently attack the police:

They lack education-vocabulary-ability to rationally debate so ...resort to physical behaviours

Um ....solar panels, wind turbines, phones, cars, batteries etc are made from minerals mined out of the ground. Not from fairy dust and rainbows

C’mon ABC, clearly police are bringing violence to this community blockade. Report the news accurately. Victorian Labor are choosing to use violence against protests.

The great unwashed are getting their comeuppance today. These pests, parasites, public nuisances, hystericals, leftists, anarchists, socialists, communists, feminazis, soy boys & minority turds of society are finally getting the physical push back they so richly deserve 👊 imarc auspol

Violent police clash with protesters outside mining conference. -fixed that for you

Mining funding these professional protesters welfare payments.

Fix your grossly inaccurate reporting on the IMARC protest . How do you expect anyone to support you in your righttoknow campaign when you continue publishing blatant lies favouring those who wield power auspol

VictoriaPolice LisanevilleMP Some protestors are annoying/a nuisance/violent I get that. Seriously riding horses into a mass of people is just plain dangerous. M_McCormackMP Mining & Resources also pay your over-rated salary, so quit making assumptions & casting aspersions!

You're a joke ABC. False

Compare Protestors: 'We're the non-violent ones. ' with 'Two people had been arrested for assaulting a police horse' (yet some protestors were animal rights activists!) & 'police officer... was taken to hospital'

Into court and give them a record.

Shame the police can't use rubber bullets

The climate protesters are standing still, the police are clashing

“Two people had been arrested for assaulting a police horse, police said.” Ban protests

More leftist violence.. day in, day out around the world, almost all not covered by the mainstream leftist media..

No sympathy for violence

glebbern The recent and near-future rises in temperature are occurring and will occur at least an order of magnitude faster than the worst of all prior Mass Extinctions. Habitat for human animals is disappearing throughout the world, and abrupt climate change has barely begun.

Err no, there are violent clashes cause the climate protesters are disobeying the law.
