Harley-Davidson has resumed production and deliveries of its first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire, after it told dealers it was halting production due to a problem related to charging

By Austen Hufford Updated Oct. 18, 2019 4:35 pm ET Harley-Davidson Inc. HOG -0.35% is resuming production and deliveries of its first electric motorcycle about a week after it told dealers it was halting production due to a problem related to charging.

The motorcycle maker said Friday that it determined that the unidentified problem it found on one motorcycle was a one-off situation. Riders are now allowed to charge their LiveWire bikes using both home outlets and professional fast chargers. Earlier this week, the company said riders should only charge using the faster type of stations found at dealerships and charging stations.

The company said its bikes, with a suggested retail price of $30,000, have been safe to ride the entire time. The electric motorcycle is at the center of Harley’s plans to attract a younger and more diverse set of riders as its traditional group of domestic customers ages. But the LiveWire is largely viewed as just a starting point for the company’s development of electric bikes and will account for a tiny fraction of the company’s total motorcycles shipped this year, according to analysts.Related Write to Austen Hufford at austen.hufford@wsj.

I still think it looks like a Ducati Monster with a beer gut.

Will it come with a loud speaker that’s screams “LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME?” Cause a lot of people aren’t gonna buy it if it doesn’t scream ego issues 🤣😆🤣

The sexy sound of laser printer...
