WASHINGTON - Activists seeking to pressure U.S. politicians to fight climate change aim to blockade major traffic hubs in the U.S. capital on Monday, drawing attention to a U.N. Climate Summit that will be attended by leaders from about 60 countries.
“One thing we’ve learned is that shutting down a city is a very effective way to communicate the gravity of the climate crisis,” said Kaela Bamberger, a spokeswoman for Extinction Rebellion DC, one of the roughly two dozen groups participating. Activists will target four locations, including Farragut Square, in downtown Washington, Columbus Circle, near the Union Station train terminal, and Folger Park on Capitol Hill.
So everyone waiting in traffic will be defacto counter protesting by idling their engines while these idiots block traffic. This ozone destruction is on you GretaThunberg
I agree with the message, but I would be in school if was the cool?
Maybe you should protest like Hong Kong. Destroy the subway station and start fires everywhere. So the government can conversation with you
