A recent survey found that despite new models and lower price points, consumers still avoid electric vehicles for the same reasons that they have for years

They offer some of the fastest acceleration on the planet, a near silent and serene driving experience and reduce humans’ overall impact on the environment.

When asked a slightly different question — ‘What would your top three priorities be in choosing an EV?’ — consumers’ answers were largely the same. Price was the most common answer , with range and charging access rounding out the top three responses. When respondents were asked what was the minimum range they would accept on a model in this price range, the most common response was “Between 250 and 300 miles.”

Autolist asked consumers what range they would expect on a luxury EV that cost $70,000. The most common answer — by far — was “More than 500 miles,” and 61 percent of respondents said this luxe EV would need at least 400 miles of range. Consumers expect electric vehicles to have the same overall range as their gas vehicles — often between 300 and 500 miles or more. Yet the average person drives just 37 miles a day, according to Federal Highway Administration.

Therein lies the real dilemma with climate change. It starts with us individually. Until we are willing to pay up for some things, things will change slowly Aren't Tesla's the best selling luxury cars though? Seems like they're buying them to me. I bought a hybrid for the reasons mentioned above and of course because of the color. ❤️

'It's a moral issue. This is about stewardship, this is about justice It's about dishonesty and is a lie. Crappy, consultant-tested lines. We will die if we don't dismantle Capitalism. Pete is the best when it comes to articulating a foundational perspective and outlook on serious issues. 👍
