'No planet B': More than 50,000 Sydneysiders march for climate action ClimateStrike

Melbourne's Treasury Gardens is now filling up with the rally kicking off at 2pm.

"They're not going to have a planet," she said. "By the year 2050, they won't be allowed to play in the sun at lunch time.""We're doing everything we can and it's incredibly frustrating that we have a government that is doing nothing," she said.Ms Heunis, 45, said she had known about climate change since she was her children's ages of 11 and 12.

"If the government's response to this strike today is 'business as usual', what are ordinary people supposed to do in response to the government's inaction? This is an absolute climate emergency," Mr Berkman said.

No action required from anyone, because it's natural for climate to change, we're not headed for disaster

I WAS ALL FOR IT & THINKING THEY WILL PUSH THE VEIL UP ABIT SO THE POPULACE & THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT HOW THEY HAVING BEING SECRETLY CONTROLLING THE WEATHER GEOENGINEERING & HAARP WEATHER WARFARE THAT IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR TE CLIMATE CHANGE THAT U SEE WORLDWIDE NOW!TIL I SEE TIS

50,000 brainwashed sheep 🐏

verbatorium Closer to 200 thousand is the number I’ve seen on other sites. Stop protecting the government & the damage they’re doing.

Activists: 'Co2 emotions will end the world in 12 years' Conservatives: 'Zero emmitions Nuclear power will save the planet' Activists: 'We say no to Nuclear, its to dangerous to save the planet' Conservatives: ''

'students'? Phew! For a moment there, I thought they might be people with some actual credibility rather than a mob of exploited, misled, parrots. BeautifulPlumage

This is amazing 👏🏻

They'll all be dead 12 years

Nice one

. I haven't seen anything as big as that since Patrick White prevented Nuclear Winters in the 1980s...

👏👏👏👏👏

50,000 is that all? Poor turn out

Hahaah what a waste of time and effort .... you all want the creauire comforts and all the mod cons that are in offer want want want but will you give it all up and live like the cave man did NO

A religion has deniers. Science has rational discussion. Climate has always changed and always will. Green global media cult might as well call deniers ‘blasphemers’. ‘End of snow’ prophesy still to materialise.

Lots of hypocrisy there. The climate is a big issue, but deploying more nuclear & hydro to solve it, apparently thats a step too far. Wind & solar are non solutions. Most of these people dont care about climate, they care about ideology.

So when do we march in Beijing and New Delhi?

if the big crowd dont move PM then democracy is broken corrupted by coal miners

Onya Sydney 👍🏼

It's been a great march. The only thing I didn't like was I heard quite a few racist comments and jokes amongst the crowd while walking.

50,000 is a very conservative estimate from what I saw. At least 100,000 if not 150

Apparently 50,000. So, 50,000 / 25,606,554. 0.1952% of the population. Don't know if that'll have much of an impact in real terms. But speaking of real terms, guess that's at least higher than the 0.04% of CO2 in the atmosphere... 😏

Global climate strike LIVE: Australian school students march in protest of climate changeThousands of students and other supporters of the climate change action have filled The Domain in Sydney and are listening (and cheering, and heckling) as speakers address the crowd following a welcome to country. Follow live: Big crowd in Albury outside Sussan Ley’s office. Yet these same people block major development of nuclear & hydro in Australia, the only two technologies that actually displace fossil fuels. Hypocrites to the last. Climate scientist Dr. Katherine Hayhoe says that one of the best things we can do about climate change is to talk about it. So, I drew from my work as a clinical psychologist to write this guide on how to have a useful conversation about climate change.
