Climate issue: Global warming is not all bad, some Russians unfortunately reckon

fires that turned the Siberian skies into a wall of solid smoke stretching for thousands of kilometres. Then came a drought that sucked the Lena river nearly dry, leaving boats marooned in the mud. It has been an arduous summer in Yakutia, an icy republic in Russia’s far east. Add to that the fact that the regional capital, Yakutsk, stands upon thawing permafrost that warps roads and buildings, and climate inaction becomes hard to defend.

Russia’s leaders, in turn, see decarbonisation as a prospect too distant to care about. The government’s in-house think-tank reckons that global carbon-dioxide emissions will not decline until after 2040, and that the world’s appetite for Russia’s hydrocarbons will last that long, too.

Considering they were twice as cold than usual, this is not unexpected. However, as almost everywhere is being reported as warming 'twice as fast' logic dictates that: 1 those places must have been twice as cold previously, 2 other places are cooling 2x 3 Bullshit

Absolutely happening, continue regardless of any imaginable effort by humanity to stop it. All we can do now is arrest it sometime in the neighborhood of radically altered climate/environment and desperate. Think Russia will even try? USA?China?

That's yet another reason to take fast action to halt global warming. Under no circumstances should we want any global shipping artery to be traversing through Russian so-called territorial waters.

God I wish I was paid to write bullshit like this

That's right!

Because they help create this hoax so they can better complete against us

Russia wants the artic and the easier access to its northern fossil fuel reserves.

Because Russia ha never done anything for anybody but itself, ever.

...has Russia done anything that the US liked? Not since bringing down that wall

Global warming, so yesterday's fakenews!

Cause it’s cold as fuck there

Earth will melt for next 250,000 years. Than refreeze for another 250, 000 yrs -GOD-

Cause the ice sucks?

Now one can guess how'Warm and Deep' rooted the friendship btw the two bad boys of politics is. Based on present value of future 'SNOW '🤣

Cause Russia is COLD!!!? Duh...

Cos it’s fucking freezing there.

If you got a dacha sitting on the permafrost? Notsomuch.

You wouldn't ask the question if you lived there

Warm water ports.

Tl;dr it’s cold

They live in the most unlivable climate anywhere.....

Because it is cold there.

It’s hard to keep up an historically xenophobic culture when the climate of frozen thought melts

Because they suck?

Must be Because they are sick and tired of cold..

Because they like not freezing their collective assets off.

Russia doesn't seem to stand for anything decent

We know. New sea routes.

Why would we only cut emissions by 25 or 30percent when we already know we could cut them by 75 - 80 percent. We most certainly have the knowledge and the the technology to do so and have had for a very long time.

Why? Because Яussia is freak’n COLD!

Of course, because it's a Fraudulent stance. Even the United States dropped out of the KYOTO PROTOCOL.

True, global warming has it's con's and it's pro's. But the point is, the earth (animals) are being tortured and abused. who cares about global warming, that is not the issue, the issue in is THIS GIF ANIMATION

Cuz they’re still freezing their asses off up there and want it to warm up a tad, obviously

Delaney: Why trade relationships are vital to fighting climate changeFmr. Rep. Delaney says America's international trade relationships are key to fighting climate change. 'Our current president is an isolationist ... you fundamentally can't deal with climate change if that's your approach.' ClimateForum2020 Extending that logic seems to be indicating that unless there is one authority regulating, monitoring and enforcing environmental policies worldwide, fighting climate change won't work. Is that what you're saying? Blah blah blah... This is so tautological and boring that I can't figure out Delaney stays awake long enough to say it.
