There was no good reason for the Trump administration to roll back lightbulb energy-efficiency standards, but that’s exactly what happened this week.
Trump’s Energy Department also nixed new energy efficiency standards for all pear-shaped lightbulbs that were also scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1, 2020. As longtime readers may recall, way back in 2007, the newly elected Democratic Congress and the Republican White House thought they could work together on a credible energy bill, and they actually had a fair amount of success. One of the provisions, co-authored by Rep. Fred Upton , dealt with light-bulb standards intended to spur innovation, lower costs, and improve energy efficiency.

MaddowBlog Of course that's a immature decision, just because Obama's administration is the one who came with the smart idea.
MaddowBlog It’s seems he needs to replace the bulb in his head because he can’t think of anymore useless or destructive projects and he bought $1M of old lightbulbs (what a deal!) using tax revenue, of course.
MaddowBlog And the stupidity of this administration rolls on.
MaddowBlog The borders are a sieve and the left is worried about light bulbs. Surprised?

MaddowBlog Maybe some wealthy donor offered Trump a big payoff just to see if he would do something so mind boggling and harmful to the US. Or an aide suggested it in jest to see how mentally ill and unstable Trump is. Either is possible.
