The unnamed Good Samaritan was spotted buying dozens of electric generators, believed to cost $450 each, to aid communities in the Bahamas devastated by Hurricane Dorian.

The post has received more than 39,000 likes and has been shared over 34,000 times since Wednesday."[He's a] very kind and caring person to help the people in the Bahamas affected by hurricane Dorian," one commenter wrote., a GoFund Me campaign that's gathered more than $94,000. Launched by Mercedes Thurston, the campaign honors Thurston's husband, Errol, a fishing guide in Abaco, Bahamas.

"Hurricane Dorian demolished this island; it's the worst I ever seen. Bahamians are strong and the people of Abaco are even stronger," Mercedes wrote."We will keep praying and rebuild from the ground up. Your donations wIll help us purchase the supplies these families are in desperate need of at the moment for basic survival, such as water, food, toiletries, medical items, etc.

Dorian hit the Bahamas as a Category 5 hurricane Sunday night, destroying homes and businesses and killing at least five people. Authorities estimate the damage to be in excess of $5 billion, but numerous individuals and organizations have offered generous support: On Tuesday, the Walt Disney Company announced a $1 million donation to relief agencies tasked with recovery and relief efforts. The Bahamas has been a popular destination for the Disney Cruise Lines, including Castaway Cay, a private island that serves as an exclusive Disney port.
