Illegal plants still get power and water, complains Klang council

Illegal plastic-recycling factories continue to operate as their electricity and water supplies have not been cut off despite the Klang Municipal Council having written to utility firms, says a Selangor exco. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 3, 2019.

THE Klang Municipal Council said it is difficult to curb illegal plastic-recycling activities due to utility firms’ delay in cutting off electricity and water to such plants. Selangor Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said he will discuss the matter with the Energy Commission and National Water Services Commission.
