The Tory leader wants an"energy independent Canada."Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer holds a press conference in Ottawa on July 20, 2017.
In a speech laying out his economic vision before the next election, the opposition leader says having one dedicated route would make it easier to approve major new energy projects.
Good grief
That would be believable if there were the refineries to process heavy oil in the East, but there isn’t and it makes no sense investing them now, this late in the fossil fuel game. So the pipelines would be for export, just as they’re planned to be.
This is a red herring that his media backers keep pushing! It’s DOA! Provinces and indigenous groups are calling it a “pipe dream”! There are also vows of years of legal battles but those that love CONservatives will keep throwing this out there!!
No thanks, not if he threatens to cut-off supply to Canadian provinces. If he is going to engage in exertion and strong arming tactics against captive customers, them I'm afraid we must insist on healthy competition in the sector. BC can't afford the concentration risk!
