FILE - In this Friday, April 12, 2019 file photo, climate change demonstrators hold banners in front of the Winston Churchill Statue during a protest near Parliament in London. An independent committee that advises the British government on climate change says the UK should target net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050, recommending the rapid adoption of policies to change everything from how people heat their homes to what they eat.
The panel says the government should reduce the demand for energy overall, increase the electrification of the British economy, develop hydrogen fuel technology, plant more trees and set ambitious targets for carbon capture and storage. Environmental groups welcomed the findings, but the proposals could be seen as daunting to some businesses and the government.
“An earlier date has been proposed by some groups and might send a stronger signal internationally to those considering increasing their own ambition, but only if it’s viewed as credible,” the panel said.
Too bad 2050 is too late but thanks for playing, humans but you lose.
Not soon enough... Only 12 years left... 2050 is too late to save the planet...
Don’t they know that we only have 10 years left? 🤷♂️🙄
Only concrete and coordinate actions relate to the protection of the environment, among individuals, communities, cities and countries; can have an impact in the temperatures link to 🌎climate change. Demonstrations and hollow words of politicians& individuals are not an answer.
Get ready for government to begin stripping your freedom away.
Sad that trump doesn't believe or have a clue about protecting our planet.
😂
More hate speech arrests?
Gonna have to plant a bunch of trees
Stop importing so much food, environmental disaster
As should all countries in the world
'ClimateChange'
