Labor is announcing a $75 million Renewables Training Package in a bid to ready Australians to work in the renewable and clean energy industries.

The Opposition says its target of 50 per cent renewables by 2030 will see up to 70,000 new jobs created, and the package will include support for apprentices and TAFE upgrades to train locals for the new

roles. Leader Bill Shorten says $45 million will go towards 10,000 additional Apprentice Incentives for apprentices in the renewables industry, while $30 million will be used to improve training facilities at TAFEs.
