Extreme ocean winds and waves have become more common over the past three decades, according to scientists who warn climate change could be causing the trend.
The biggest increases in extreme winds were found in the Southern Ocean. There extreme winds increased by approximately 1.5 meters per second, or 8 percent, over the last 30 years. Extreme waves in this same region increased by 30 centimeters or 5 percent. “Although increases of 5 percent for waves and 8 percent for winds may not seem like much, if sustained into the future, such changes to our climate will have major impacts,” Young said.
“Sea level rise is still the most significant climate-change signal we are seeing in the oceans. Changes in winds and waves will further enhance the damage sea level rise will cause. The results, however, show that the climate is linked in many ways and that a changing climate system is likely to have many cascading impacts.”
Analyzing 33 years of data when the earth is 4.5 billion years old and claiming that data points to climate change is ridiculous. Of course much like all climate climate change papers, they use the words might and may frequently. In other words, they have no clue.
And they will change our coastlines 😢
Why? Explanation please.
You people have absolutely smoked your breakfast, you'll say anything to further the fake climate change narrative. It was recently learned that the 'Atlantic' will start using everyday weather events to push climate change as well. No integrity left in MSM anymore.
