Eco settings use less water and energy, but are often longer as they are less vigorous and take more time to get the dishes cleaned to the appliance industry standard - but are better for the wallet and environment

Using your dishwasher on the shortest cycle possible may seem like one way to cut down on costs, but it could actually be costing you a lot of money in the long run.

However, shorter cycles can often require more vigorous mechanisms and hotter water to get the job done in that smaller time frame, and can end up costing more overall. Many allow you to save up to 20% in energy alone by using less water at a lower temperature, and get the dishes cleaned to the same standard over a longer amount of time. If you are using your dishwasher very frequently, this could add up to hundreds over the course of the year.
