Get Up have pulled an attack advert targeting Tony Abbott in his Sydney seat of Warringah.
The left-wing lobby group released the ad on Tuesday depicting Mr Abbott as a lifeguard and ignoring a drowning swimmer, in an attempt to criticize the Member for Warringah's stance on climate change. GetUp on Wednesday conceded the ad was in poor taste after Royal Life Saving Society Australia criticised it as insentitive in the wake of recent drowning deaths across Australia. The advert has been removed from all GetUp social channels.
