The world's largest monopile factory will enable the production of offshore wind turbine foundations weighing up to 3,000 tons.

The facility will be capable of producing monopiles up to 15.5 meters in diameter, 120 meters long, and weighing 3,500 metric tons.The world’s largest monopile factory is slowly taking shape in the United Kingdom, and the project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs throughout its lifespan.

In 2022, the company received planning approval for its proposed $380 million XXL monopile factory. Construction finally began in early 2024.SeAH Wind was established in February 2021 as the latest investment by SeAH Steel Holdings Corporation, enhancing its global presence as a major exporter of steel materials for various critical industries.

When SeAH is fully operational, it will provide a single point of contact for the entire process of fabricating monopiles. According to the firm, the completed products will then be transferred to Teesworks’ recently constructed heavy-duty deep-water dock, which is intended to be used for the export of large-scale products for the industry.
